TARGET AND WAL-MART TO SELL LIL’ ROCK STARZ ALBUM FOR THRIVE RECORDS A DIVISION OF SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT AND RECORDED BY CHILD SINGERS FROM JOHN ROBERT POWERS SCHOOL

John Robert Powers’ Singing And Acting Students from Hollywood Record Lil’ Rock Star That Includes Hits from Nickelback, Coldplay, Fall Out Boys And The Jonas Brothers And Record National Television Commercial To Air on Nickelodeon

(Los Angeles, March 25, 2009) – John Robert Powers students from the Hollywood and Agora Hills school locations recorded a new album franchise this winter for Thrive Records which is a division of Sony Music Entertainment.  Lil’ Rock Starz will be sold at major retail stores including Wal-Mart and Target.  Current hit songs including the recent Grammy Award winning record, Viva La Vida from Cold Play, Gotta Be Somebody from Nickelback and the Jonas Brothers Lovebug are on this album as well as rock classics such as Rock And Roll All Nite by Kiss, School’s Out from Alice Cooper and the Ramones Rock ‘n Roll High School.  This album recorded by John Robert Powers students is a family friendly album that can be enjoyed by both children, tweens and their parents.

“We were excited to give families the opportunity to listen to music together.  Now parents can drive with their kids in the car and sing along with them to great rock classics,” said Peter Torres head of A&R at Thrive Records.  “We’re already hearing from parents about Lil’ Rock Starz who are excited to be introducing Linkin Park, Kiss and the Ramones to their kids and from kids who are thrilled to be singing along to The Jonas Brothers. It’s a win-win situation for everybody.”

Lil’ Rock Starz  will be released nationally on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at every major retail outlet including Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target and digitally on iTunes. Thrive Records will be airing  a national commercial in March and April on Nickelodeon and other outlets.  John Robert Powers students were hired to record the Sony Music Entertainment record and to film the commercial and also to be photographed for the cover of the cd.  The students included Danielle Armstrong, Xochitl Nguyen, Melissa Alex, Joey Luthman and Ceasar Franco who were from John Robert Powers schools located in Agora Hills and Hollywood.
