LOUISIANA NATIVE LINDSEY PATTERSON WINS ACTRESS OF THE YEAR AT iPOP! NEW YORK
International Presentation of Performers Awards Local Multi-Talented New Orleans Teen “Actress Of the Year”
(Los Angeles, August 4, 2006) – iPOP! Headquarters is pleased to announce that Lindsey Patterson, a local resident of Slidell, Louisiana, has won the title of “Actress of the Year” at this year’s iPOP! competition held in New York City. The International Presentation of Performers, known as iPOP! to industry insiders, is a talent showcase which attracts hundreds of aspiring young performers in the fields of acting, dancing, singing, and modeling to New York City and Los Angeles, by providing exposure to be seen by industry professionals seeking new talent.
A native of Slidell, a few towns outside from New Orleans, Lindsey had a passion for performing ever since she could remember. After starring in numerous grade school productions and singing in her local church choir, it was only when she heard an ad on the radio to audition for acting classes that Lindsey found herself at a local John Robert Power School in New Orleans. Director of the John Robert Powers New Orleans School Ahsley Pozes, was the first to notice Lindsey’s natural ability to perform, dynamic personality, and her potential to become a rising star. “Lindsey is one of those rare triple threat performers who has the ability to nail a performance every time whether it be in acting, singing, or on the runway. Since I have known her in her two years of training, she has gained significant confidence as well as learned to take criticism and apply that to improving her performance.”
During the four day iPOP! training and competition held at the Mariott Marquis Hotel in Times Square, Lindsey competed alongside more than 1,500 child and teenage models, actors, singers, and dancers who were seen by over 200 agents, managers, casting directors, record labels, and other industry professionals. Throughout the competition, Lindsey won awards for 3rd runner up in the singing competition and 2nd runner up in commercial print, but it was only until when her name was announced for “Actress of the Year” that she realize just how far she had come. “I was so happy to have just been among the top 10 finalist.” says Lindsay. “Winning the award was especially momentous because it was also on my 19th birthday, so I guess you can say that was one the best presents I could have ever had.” Lindsey plans to make the big leap from small town Louisiana to Hollywood within the coming weeks, in hopes to pursue her dreams in acting and performing.
Billed as a unique training program, iPOP! provides participants hours of one-on-one training with top professionals in all mediums of entertainment. iPOP!’s goal is to prepare aspiring performers to meet perspective agents, managers and casting directors, becoming the “must attend” event for any aspiring performer. Previous attendees successfully landed lucrative modeling assignments and performance bookings across the country. Participants also gained representation by the biggest agencies Hollywood and New York has to offer.
This year modeling and talent agency agents and managers from Sony BMG, Clear Channel Radio, Abrams Artists, DNA Models, Elite Models, WKTU Radio, Atlantic Records, IMG Models, MGM Casting, Handprint Talent Agency, Untitled Management and Abrahms Artist Agency will be attending as well as many others from major agencies throughout the country including Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.
John Robert Powers is one of many modeling and acting schools that fully supports iPOP! and its vision, sending many aspiring young talent to attend the convention in Los Angeles and New York.
