FAIRFIELD — Lindsey Frazier wants to be famous — in part because of a friend who died two years ago.

The 10-year-old’s latest chance at the road to stardom was Nov. 7, at Central State University in Wilberforce at the Nationals Miss Pre-Teen Cincinnati pageant. She finished in third place and has an invite to the Cities of America competition Dec. 9-14 in Orlando, Fla.

Her friend, Marguerite Veillette, was the eldest of four children who died in a house fire in January 2008 in Mason, allegedly started by their father.

The Mason girl was 8 years old and a third-grader at Mason Heights.

“I know that she was going to keep on doing it,” said Lindsey, a fifth-grader who lives in Fairfield.

“I want to do it for her so if I ever become famous, she’s famous, too,” she said.

Lindsey and Marguerite met at the John Robert Powers Agency office in Cincinnati. They were paired in a room together at the International Presentation of Performers competition in Los Angeles two years ago.

Lindsey wanted to compete in the acting portion of the iPOP competition, but ended up competing in the modeling portion. She won a trophy for second runner-up in swimsuit modeling and earned two Top 10 Model medals.

Competing makes her a little nervous. Lindsey said she is a bit uncomfortable answering questions, but comfortable walking the runway, although turning is a challenge.

Her sister, McKenna Frazier, 13, said she is proud of her.

“She’s fierce,” she said of her sister’s runway modeling. “She can work the runway. She’s a natural.”

Lindsey has been in two theatrical performances. After her iPOP experience, she was a lead in a third-grade play. She also was an extra in the 2008 Fairfield High School production of “Phantom of the Opera.”

“Nothing she does will surprise me,” said her mom, Linda Frazier.

(Los Angeles, July 21, 2009) – iPOP! (International Presentation of Performers) recently held its annual acting, singing, modeling and dancing convention at the Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas. Each year iPOP! selects a charity to raise funds towards and this year’s charitable recipient was the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada. Make-A-Wish was given a booth during the four day talent convention where Make-A-Wish volunteers had a chance to intermingle with over 1,000 children, teenagers and young adults who were in Las Vegas to audition in front of Hollywood’s top agents, managers, producers and casting directors. The actors, models, singers and dancers that are all competing for top honors were asked along with their parents to stop by the charity booth and make monetary donations. iPOP! matched the donations made by the participants and parents dollar for dollar and presented a check to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada during the final night awards presentation and talent showcase.

During the showcase two young Make-A-Wish teenagers were granted wishes by performing live in front of 2,000 audience members. Diana who is from Las Vegas has always dreamed of becoming a model so it was a natural fit for iPOP! to ask Diana to join the top 20 male and female models for a special model showcase during the final awards night.

“I was so nervous to be up there in front of all those people but I was so excited to have my hair and make-up done for that night. I had so much fun at iPOP!,” said Diana from Make-A-Wish.

Anthony has always had a dream to sing in front of a big audience and to record a record. iPOP! Las Vegas made that dream come true for Anthony. He brought the house down with his soulful singing and got the attention of Hollywood manager, Sydel Lisi. “The minute I saw him enter the stage I knew Anthony had what it takes to make it in Hollywood,” said Sydel Lisi from Coast to Coast. “My company signed him and we’ve already got a record production company lined up to record with Anthony.”

“To honor two wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation makes us at iPOP! very happy,” said iPOP! President, Joseph Beauchamp. “iPOP!’s mandate is to make wishes come true for children and teenagers all over who dream of acting, modeling, singing and dancing professionally. iPOP! is thrilled to be affiliated with Make-A-Wish.”
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of America is the nation’s largest wish-granting organization. It has fulfilled the wishes of more than 161,000 children in the United States and its territories since 1980. Based in Phoenix, the Make-A-Wish Foundation serves every community in the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico through its 67 chapters. While medical technology and treatments have allowed the children we serve to lead longer lives, we continue to strive towards our ultimate mission of fulfilling a wish for every child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in Los Angeles County.
International Presentation of Performers, iPOP! has introduced close to eight thousand talented children, teenagers and young adults to the most respected agents, managers, producers and casting agents in the business today. iPOP! models such as Mark Carroll, Didier Cohen, Vlad Ivanov and Keke Lindgard went on to sign with Elite, Ford and Wilhelmina Modeling Agencies and have worked on campaigns for Calvin Klein, Macy’s, Dolce & Cabanna and Abercrombie and Finch. iPOP! actor auditions have led to national commercials for Liam Kade who shot for Eggo and Domino’s Pizza and for David Cleveland who shot for General Mills Cereal and McDonalds. Other iPOP! graduates like Doug Brochu can be seen on television starring in Disney Channel’s Sonny With A Chance with Demi Lovato and Yin Chang can be seen on the CW’s Gossip Girl. Other iPOP! participants can be seen on the big screen such as Shelby Zemanek who starred in Angels & Demons with Tom Hanks or Laura Kesling who starred along side Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories and Devon Conti who played alongside Angelina Jolie.

(Los Angeles, July 13, 2009) – President of John Robert Powers, Ron Patterson, and John Robert Powers New Orleans school owner, Craig Magleby were happy to announce today that two graduates of John Robert Powers were placed with two of the top modeling agencies in the world. Brad Alphonso and Skylar McCartney who have both been studying under the tutelage of John Robert Powers school owner, Craig Magleby, were recently taken to Las Vegas to compete at the prestigious four day iPOP! (International Presentation of Performers) convention where Brad and Skylar both won Model of the Year along with best runway and swim suit in their perspective divisions. Top modeling scouts from New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Japan and China attended iPOP! looking for their next super models and Wilhelmina NY/LA signed Brad Alphonso for a lucrative one year contract. Interestingly enough, Brad was discovered by an employee of John Robert Powers during the days following the devastating hurricane that hit New Orleans in 2005. Brad Alphonso was actively serving in the Air National Guard and was patrolling the streets when he was noticed. Brad was told he had a great look and that John Robert Powers would like to launch his modeling career when he was finished with his tour. Brad kept this in mind and two years ago enrolled in modeling classes at John Robert Powers. He has been sky rocketing to the top ever since.

“Brad Alphonso is a great American through and through,” says John Robert Powers New Orleans School owner, Craig Magleby and John Robert Powers Office of Franchise President, Ron Patterson in a joint statement. “We don’t often get models that are part of the United States military to train with John Robert Powers but we’re very happy that Brad came our way. He has stellar potential as a model and we’re sure the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency will keep him very busy.”

“I’m very grateful to John Robert Powers New Orleans. The team there really believed in me as a model and I’m grateful they did,” said Brad Alphonso. “I served my country and was there in New Orleans at a very important time. I’m happy to see the city rebuilding and I’m glad I had an opportunity to do my part.

Fourteen year old New Orleans resident, Skylar McCartney, also is a modeling student at John Robert Powers and she too competed in Las Vegas at iPOP! and signed with Next Models for a $100,000 yearly contract. Skylar is guaranteed $100,000 worth of modeling work and that is thrilling for Skylar and her family. Craig Magleby from John Robert Powers New Orleans started working with Skylar when she was only twelve years old after discovering her at National American Miss Pageant. She enrolled in the intense modeling school program at John Robert Powers and when she was thirteen many modeling agencies wanted to sign her, but Craig strongly suggested to her family that they wait until she matures more, both emotionally and physically. This is a very important part of the John Robert Powers training philosophy. When Skylar was almost fifteen, Craig Magleby took her to iPOP! and she was signed almost immediately with Next Models.

“I’m excited to work in New York, Los Angeles and Europe as a model,” said Skylar McCartney. “I can’t believe how exciting this is and I want to thank John Robert Powers New Orleans for making my modeling dream come true.”
John Robert Powers is an internationally recognized acting and modeling school system with locations throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. For over eighty years, John Robert Powers has been training students in personal development. John Robert Powers provides every student with the schooling, guidance, and confidence to further their individual potential and to reach their highest career goals.
John Robert Powers actors have appeared in national commercials, television shows and films such as Levi Strauss & Co., Dr. Pepper, Revlon, Apple Computers, Target, Chevrolet, American Idol, Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, The Changeling with Angelina Jolie, Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler, Marley and Me with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston and National Treasure Book of Secrets with Nicolas Cage. John Robert Powers models have signed modeling contracts with Wilhelmina, Ford, Elite, MMG or LA Models and have done fashion layouts for such industry giants as Glamour Magazine, JC Penny, Mervins, Target, Teen Magazine and Seventeen Magazine

(Los Angeles, February 12, 2009) – Teen celebrities came to lend their support for the next generation of talented actors, singers, dancers and models who auditioned for top agent, managers and producers at iPOP! (International Presentation of Performers) held in Los Angeles last January at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, California. The acting, modeling, dancing and singing competition drew over 1,000 children, young adults and their parents to the four day event which affords many children the opportunity to be discovered and signed with major agencies in Hollywood.

The top talent at iPOP! are formally recognized at a gala dinner on the final night of auditions and this year several young celebrities came to present awards to the lucky iPOP! winners. Daniel Samona was on hand from the Disney Chanel’s hit series The Wizards of Waverly Place which also stars Selena Gomez and David Henrie. Daniel plays the character named Dean on the show and is one of the love interests for Selena Gomez. “I had a great time at iPOP!,” said Daniel Samona. “It’s great to have the opportunity to hand out awards of excellence to these kids who have worked so hard to get were they are. Watch out Hollywood, here comes the next generation of talent.”

Emma Degersted from Nickelodeon’s Unfabulous was also on hand to present awards to the iPOP! talent. Emma has also appeared on the CBS hit comedy The Big Bang Theory, ABC’s Samantha Who and USA Network’s Monk. Doug Brochu who will be starring in the upcoming Disney Chanel show Sonny with a Chance along side Demi Lovato presented young actor of the year awards. “I myself was discovered at iPOP! several years ago and I owe a great deal of my good fortune to iPOP!,” said Doug Brochu. “I wouldn’t be on the Disney Chanel today if it weren’t for iPOP!”
Another former iPOP! graduate, Abercrombie & Finch model, Mark Carroll presented model of the year awards at the iPOP! awards show as well. Mark Carroll was signed by LA Models in Los Angeles and Elite in Miami after auditioning at iPOP! two years ago. Mark was followed by Laura Ann Kesling who also presented acting awards. Everyone recognized Laura Ann for her humorous role in this past holiday’s hit movie Bedtime Stories starring Adam Sandler
International Presentation of Performers, iPOP! has introduced close to eight thousand talented children, teenagers and young adults to the most respected agents, managers, producers and casting agents in the business today. iPOP! participants ranging from the ages of six to twenty-five years old who have attended iPOP! events have signed modeling contracts with Wilhelmina, Elite, MMG and LA Models and have modeled for industry giants such as Glamour Magazine, JC Penny, Mervins, Target, Teen Magazine and Seventeen Magazine. iPOP! auditions have led to national commercials for Cingular, L’Oreal, McDonalds, Band-Aid and Microsoft Windows. Other iPOP! graduates have booked appearances on Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Scrubs, Entourage, Hannah Montana, Zoey 101, Criminal Minds, Bones, Law & Order and Grey’s Anatomy.

John Robert Powers’ Acting, Modeling and Singing Student From New Orleans Airs Record on Radio In Several Cities Nationally

(Los Angeles, December 3, 2008) – President of John Robert Powers, Ron Patterson, was pleased to announce today that a student from the John Robert Powers school in New Orleans, Louisiana had her very first record air on radio. Alana Klingman’s song, Sealed with a Kiss is currently being played in her hometown of New Orleans on radio station B97 FM but can also be heard across the United States on radio stations such as KXXM San Antonio, Texas, KZHT Salt Lake City, Utah, WAEV, Savannah, Georgia, WBEA Long Island, New York, KAWV, Lihue, Hawaii and KWSS, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Alana Klingman is just one of hundreds of children, teenagers and young adults who take regular classes at John Robert Powers schools for acting, singing, modeling and dancing. Alana signed up for acting and singing classes at John Robert Powers in New Orleans hoping she would learn the necessary tools and skills to become a professional singer and actor. It wasn’t long before her dream came true. Alana was introduced to notable record producer Ronnie ‘Chico’ Di Cicco from Rizz One Entertainment at a talent convention in Las Vegas in 2007. Chico was instantly impressed with Alana’s natural singing talents and started writing a song for Alana within months of their first introduction. Along with his writing and producing partners, Gary Geld and Peter Udell, Sealed with A Kiss was recorded with Alana Klingman performing lead vocals.

Chico’s work with Rizz One Entertainment and the music industry in general is extensive and John Robert Powers is proud to have him on board as a team member seeking and working with new talent. Chico has worked with many illustrious record companies including Virgin Records, Universal Music Group, Columbia Records, Capital Records and Hollywood Records and has produced successful dance music remixes for Hillary Duff, Katharine McPhee, Katy Perry and Pink.

“We’re are so glad that John Robert Powers was there to introduce our singing student, Alana Klingman to record producer Chico,” said John Robert Powers President, Ron Patterson. “This is why the John Robert Powers school system is in cities like New Orleans. JRP connects children and teenagers to important record producers and film directors from hot spots like Los Angeles and New York. These kids wouldn’t get this opportunity elsewhere,” Ron Patterson went on to say.

John Robert Powers New Orleans school director Ashley Pomes was equally impressed with Alana Klingman’s singing talent. “We are here for the kids,’ says Ashley Pomes. “John Robert Powers New Orleans trains children and young adults to act, model, sing and dance. We have a passion here and it pays off when we get an opportunity to see one of our students such as Alana Klingman succeed. We are very proud of her,” Ashley Pomes concluded.

For over eighty years, John Robert Powers has been training students in personal development specializing in acting, modeling and singing. John Robert Powers has school locations in several cities throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.
John Robert Powers singers, actors and models have appeared in national commercials, television shows and films such as Levi Strauss & Co., Dr. Pepper, Revlon, Apple Computers, Target, Chevrolet, American Idol, Superman Returns, The Changeling and the Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana.
